Description
Not only was it a truck turning where it should NOT turn, onto a non-truck route, it was an OVERSIZED LOAD truck, with a DOUBLE LONG trailer! He got stuck at the “no truck” sign.
Q: do truck drivers have maps that tell them to turn there? Can the maps be corrected?
And we wonder why St. Anthony Parkway has potholes?!
And we get to live with the ripped-up roads they leave behind.

I repeat my comment and turn it into a request. Can a south facing sign be installed so that trucks traveling north on Johnson Street NE can clearly see they should NOT TURN onto St Anthony Pkwy, BEFORE they have started their turn and it's too late?
A similar, effective sign is on southbound Stinson just before the 29th Street intersection with stop signs. It says ALL TRUCKS MUST TURN and has an arrow pointing left.
Our new sign could read: ALL TRUCKS MUST GO STRAIGHT with a straight up arrow. Could add circle slash arrows turning right and left.
Almost daily I watch heavy trucks try to navigate St Anthony Pkwy east of Johnson St. Clearly, the current signage is not effective enough.

Although there technically is a NO TRUCKS sign on the signal pole on the NW corner of the intersection, it is angled so that a truck driver traveling north on Johnson trying to turn left (go west) on St Anthony Pkwy cannot fully see the sign, until the cab has already made most of the turn and then it’s too late and the rest of the trailer needs to follow.
Yesterday, there was another semi going west on St. Anthony Pkwy, and down the winding part past Fillmore St NE. That can’t be helpful for the traffic going east on St. Anthony Pkwy, trying to get up the winding hill.
Last week, 2 large motor coaches managed to make the northbound Johnson St to westbound St. Anthony turn (how? I’m not sure!). The first motor coach got to the top of the hill between Pierce St NE and Fillmore St NE, discovers he wasn’t supposed to be there, so turned north onto Fillmore St NE, and I don’t know where from there.
The big trucks are loud, noisy, bang up the pavement on St. Anthony Pkwy, and makes it unsafe for drivers properly traveling the other direction.
Can the NO TRUCKS sign be re-angled - or another sign installed - so that truck drivers will be physically able to see the sign before attempting to make a difficult and improper turn?
