Description
Shrubs block view of oncoming traffic when exiting north and turning left out of the North Copps Hill Plaza Shopping Center onto Copps Hill Road. You must pull into the west bound lane to see around the shrubs when you are in a passenger car. These shrubs should be taken out and repaced by very low plantings.

Well, it has been two months with no action. Is the city of Ridgefield content to wait until there is an accident at this intersection causing bodily and financial injury to our citizens? Is ther no monitoring by the city? What good is this web site if no action is taken by the city? I belive the planning and zoning committee approved the design of this property. Are they going to be liable for the damages resulting from accidents that are a direct result of poor design? I have observed how many lawsuits our town has defended (at great taxpayer expense). Here is an easy cure that will eleminate any cupability by the town simply by requiring Cops hill to cut down some shrubs.
Why wait till there is a problem... or someone is injured. I'm sure the city will respond AFTER there is a problem...

Really "entertained"? Turn a safety issue into a personal assult and George Bush bashing???????? How clever and smart.
The DOT handles "line of site" safety issues on public roads such as this one. One call will get them out there to address the problem with the new owners of the Copps Hill Shopping Center. Problem solved (assuming the owners cooperate).

Ridgefield Girl,
Your comments are correct and refreshing. It's amazing how some people pull national politics into a simple, local issue. It happens all the time, just read the Press every week. I actually do just what you say, go out the back way. It's faster and safer.

Glad to know there are still a few level headed people around still.

I have sent this to the Ridgefield Town Board of Selectmen requesting that someone from the Town be assigned to monitor this WEB Site and to take the initiative to respond to these issues as appropriate.

Tom is right, it's a town issue unless it's a state road.
This is from the CT DOT website:
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
ConnDOT is only responsible for STATE ROADS. To report a problem on or with a local road please contact the appropriate town.

That being said, or actually written, I hope the landlord fixes this simple problem.
