Description
Property owners are in violation of two codes under BIMC 18.15.040 - Outdoor Lighting. First, section E: Prohibited - Figure 3, Accent Lighting - large, permanent address sign has light pointing up, illuminating the surrounding and overhead foliage for several feet which is in direct violation of stated code and against the Dark Sky mandate. Light must point down. In addition, under section C: Exemptions, number 6, Seasonal decorations - 4 cedar trees adjacent to street and neighboring property are blanketed several feet from the ground up with white and blue Christmas lights. Code states that such displays not have a brightness of more than 0.1 foot-candle power at the property line. This was measured at 4.2 foot-candle power at night several feet from the property line which is glaring and illuminating at least 5 adjacent properties and the street.
