Description
Potential "ice rink" in front of 1635 WG. Attached is a picture from the afternoon of November 26….36+ hours after the end of the rain. While the rest of the sidewalk is completely dry, there are still two small ponds out front. This is even after Mark Terrell did his sidewalk cleaning for the week (which undoubtedly reduced the standing water). I have reported this several times through the city web-site including before last winter.
The water pond during actual rain events is immense. This is very inconvenience for anyone using the sidewalk as there is not anywhere to walk without getting your feet wet. However, our biggest concern is in the winter when the water turns to ice. We try to do a good job of clearing the snow, but the inevitable snowmelt refreezes at these points causing a constant trip/fall hazard.
