Description
The bicycle lane striping in each direction on 55th Street between Shattuck and Adeline is almost entirely faded away. Routine maintenance to replace the pre-existing striping has been needed for several years, and is getting worse despite multiple reports from neighbors.
This is NOT a new infrastructure request, it is a ROUTINE MAINTENANCE request for the EXISTING striping. Keith Schuerholz, don't send me another letter scoring this as though its a request for something that wasn't already there.
55th Street is on the repaving schedule for 2026. Ignoring the lane line striping maintenance for another three years until then is not acceptable. Please replace the existing lane lines soon, to help protect street safety until more significant upgrades can be implemented with the paving.

"Acknowledged" and still no improvements made. Meanwhile, there have been multiple crashes on 55th, and I ran out from my home to help a woman involved in one crash who was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Councilmember Kalb and his staff are aware of this issue, but have not responded to emails or shared any plans to improve the conditions.
