Description
I contacted the City about this leak on 8/30 when I became sure it was a leak in the water main. I'd started watching the small damp spot in the road on the 27th. I received a quick response and was assured that the Public Works Department knew about the leak in the main and was just trying to narrow down where the leak was to minimize disruption to the Court. I sent an additional message a few days later to make sure y'all knew it is was getting steadily worse. I received no further communication or updates. The street was marked up on 9/6. The leak continues to get worse Nothing has happened since Tuesday, and we've gotten no notification of impending water shutoff or digging. Sooooo..... when are you fixing this?
Your delay in addressing this is mind boggling given the water emergency in CA and the desperate need to conserve water. We are constantly inundated with requests and demands to conserve water, and this household does and always has. I'm very frustrated that the City is taking their responsibility so much less seriously.
Last time there was a leak in the same place, it was torn up same day. It was a worse leak, but we are in a much worse situation regarding water now. This leak is coming up through the patch in the asphalt from the last one.
If I don't see action on or before Monday, I will start sending timelines and pictures to County and State water authorities, social media, and local news. To start.

Please note the Water Distribution Department is aware of this leak. It is being investigated to pinpoint the exact location to avoid digging up multiple spots in the court.

This is exactly the same answer I received 2 weeks ago. Since then exactly one person was out a week ago, to mark up the streets for underground lines. There has been no leak detection equipment here, so no, you are not trying to do anything. The leak is steadily worse, so it should be easier to find, if you were actually trying.
I will be taking my documentation to the media, County, and State now.
