It has been suggested to close-off traffic from Main Street and only use the North Street entrance/exit. Some modifications to the drive-thru layout would be necessary. Wouldn't take long to learn a new routine.
Another problem with that McDonald's is the EXIT driveway on North St. The arrows on the exit sign clearly direct traffic to EXIT ONLY. But the arrows on the pavement allow traffic to BOTH ENTER & EXIT. I nearly got hit by someone coming in when I was in that driveway. I saw the one way arrows on the sign and made the logical assumption that there were 2 lanes for exiting, depending on whether one is turning right or left. The incoming driver didn't expect me to be sitting in that lane.
I agree that the placement of both entrances & exits on Main Street should be eliminated and the North Street entrance & exit used. Often during the day/night southbound traffic on Main Street is cut to one lane due to cars attempting to turn left into McDonald's.
what they should do is buy the old houses just behind mcdonalds on south street and create an entrance that comes in on the street by the laundrymat, then they could put a order speaker and driveway through where the houses used to be and the line would be longer before and after the ordering station.
Nothing the city can do about it folks, so your complaints are falling on deaf ears. This is a McDonald's issue. Just avoid Main Street between Park and North streets during lunch and you'll have nothing to complain about
