It’s been nearly four weeks since the first tag went up. I filed a complaint with Walgreens but did not get a response. Is there anything else we can do?
I understand, but this is private property. Walgreens should be on the hook, here. You can call 1-800-925-4733 and file a complaint, too. Maybe enough noise will get them to take action.
That is incredibly ugly and embarrassing. I called the store and talked with the manager. She said they are going to remove the sign soon, because it is too expensive to maintain with recurring vandalism, very difficult to clean. The manager is understandably distraught. This is sick. That graffiti was done in the open, with full view of the street! City of Renton, please catch vandals and stick them in jail or give them VERY heavy fine. Set traps in right location with video cameras. Work with businesses. Prevent large scale graffiti from happening, instead of just cleaning up the mess. Fellow neighbors, you might want to call the walgreens location 425-207-1278 and tell them you are sorry this happened. Businesses do not stay in high-crime areas. They needed that sign. Anyone defending graffitti as an "art form" or "expression of hip-hop culture", as previously happened on this website, here is the answer. Graffiti is 100% a crime, causes real suffering, and makes the city look awful.
