The City of Oakland Public Works Department has received this issue. It is registered as service request # 542996. Thank you, in advance, for your patience as we work through a backlog of pothole service requests. Unfortunately the City does not have enough funding to repave all streets in poor condition. With limited funding, our response to resurfacing requests is limited to minor pavement and pothole repairs only. Our Street Maintenance Department will assess your street and determine whether temporary measures might be appropriate. Please understand that this work may be limited to pothole or other minor repairs, and that we have many similar requests. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner. The backlog of streets in Oakland needing pavement currently is $435 million and growing.

Please, just explain to me what this means. Does it mean it's been looked at and off you went or does it mean something is going to be done about it????????
Public Works gave its boilerplate answer that there's NO MONEY to fix roads. Take a look at that reply again.
Try to get "extra help" with this pothole issue by contacting your council rep. And the more concerned neighbors that do this, the better. It will still take a long time...better get on it!!!!!!
This may not look like much but the crumbling has started and getting worse by the end of everyday. If cars are parked on the right side of the street it is necessary for us to drive through the crumbing portion of the street creating more collapse. IF the city that I pay taxes to can not fix my street I may just have to bring in a cement truck to fill it myself. Legal or not! I can not have my newer car destroyed at my expense because the city refuses to repair a street that get's a lot of movement even though it is a dead end street. This is just one small spot on the entire street that is crumbling more and more each day. We're BEGGING for help!
