It’s the same way going south bound on the service road at the Weatherly/Haysland light! If you’re stopped around the Publix pull in you’ll sit 3-4 cycles. Some times traffic even backs up further to Mikes Merchandise and you’ll sit up to 7 -10 light cycles between the two lights there. So 3-4 isn’t that bad. But then you have those two to five people that blatantly run the RED lights.

The parent pickups from Grissom are required to use Haysland, so I am not surprised. Light adjustments are desperately needed near Grissom at school dismissal time! Please address, thank you!

Hi, has anyone checked on these issues? Today, I left the Grissom parking lot at 3:50 and waited until 4:10 to get a light to access the north Parkway from Meadowbrook. People trying to leave Grissom through the channels designated by the school are having to wait multiple light cycles to get out of the area. I was late for an afternoon appointment because I did not anticipate having to wait 20 minutes for light cycles. We also had residents of Indigo apartments who were visibly upset because no one would give them a break to get out of their entrance/exit. Please help, thank you!

They’ll tell you the same thing they told some other person who commented on the Mythewood light. It cycles what they have it scheduled for and they refuse to change it. So people will continue to run the light and more people will run it then someone will cause an accident and until it effects someone who has status in this town nothing will be done about it. They’ll tell you to take a different route.

Thursday, 9/1 - approximately 5 to 6 cars are getting through the Meadowbrook light to get onto North Parkway. I swear, the light is getting shorter! Another instance of sitting through 4 light cycles. Then during my light cycle, I had to wait additional time as a car blew through the red light going south on the Parkway. As housing fills in this area, this issue is not going away (except during the summer when school is out). Please have a traffic study done and/or adjust the lights before a serious accident takes place, especially involving a student.

At least it lets 5-6 cars go! At Mythewood it only lets 4! And when they develope that corner it’ll be worse. They don’t care! Traffic backs up on the service road from Haysland all the way back to Kroger during the week when school is in and it’s mainly because they forced all those people to stay on the service road until they get past Lowe’s. HORRIBLE way to manage building roads in Huntsville and it goes all the way back to when they built the first overpass and several people told them it won’t work well in the future and now look at the mess it has caused. Back up and impatient people sitting at lights for a minimum of two to five or six cycles during rush hour and city officials do not care because it does not effect them.
