Yes, this intersection has become dangerous to cross due to the increased traffic, parked cars, and curve of the road.

I’ve seen so many people run the stop sign up near the animal shelter since that street opened up. I think speed bumps would probably be more effective since it is a narrow stretch.

Yes this intersection needs a stop sign. Not only do people speed through, many families cross here to use the park and as has been previously commented, it’s difficult to see cars coming from Entrance/Sherman due to parked cars on Clement.

With the tight curves and limited sightlines, this stretch of Clement between Entrance and Ohlone has become hazardous with increasing volumes and speed. Moderation/calming is needed, and I would agree with the need for a stop sign at Clement/Sakas or Clement/Stanton.

There has been a noticable increase in traffic and speeding on Clement with the opening to Atlantic. Crossing at Stanton has become particularly dangerous for pedestrians given the blind curve. I agree with the others that this intersection needs a stop sign and/or other speed moderation measures for safety.

This intersection has become more dangerous as traffic has increased. Even crossing in the crosswalk does not guarantee a safe crossing. A three-way stop would be great along with the diamonds/shark teeth before the stop sign so people know that a stop sign is coming and they should stop.

To the city planners: You have considered moving pedestrian and bike traffic onto Clement, but people need to be able to get there safely. This intersection is one of the only ones on Clement leading to the new Del Monte site but also includes the small park on Clement and the walk way/bike lane to Sweeney park. Families need to get over to the water side of Clement, safely.

Agree with everything said so far but I’ll also add that this feels unsafe even when I’m in my car trying to turn onto Clement in either direction.

Allow me to translate the above government speak and explain why it is ill informed and illogical. The City proposes to use the lagging indicator of injury or fatality accidents along this stretch of Clement Avenue to drive improvement of lane markings, stop signs etc. The equity comment is baffling- I'm not sure how ethnicity/gender or other equity factors matters when a pedestrian gets knocked down.

In any event, it is bad policy to use a lagging indicator to diagnose safety issues when an entirely new traffic pattern is laid out and then usage is accelerated by forcing a rapid increase in traffic volume through the new pattern, as the city did by closing Buena Vista for several months. A proactive approach to pedestrian safety is needed here. Even the current infrastructure, lacking as it is, has not been maintained.

Maybe a more pressing question is how our residents on Clement Avenue could qualify for the city's "quiet streets" program- which city officials campaign fund do we need to contribute to in order to access that program? That would certainly enhance the "equity" in our homes.
