Hello neighbors,
I thought I'd mention that I noticed water running down the curb on Wickson Ave., to Walker Ave. this afternoon. It appears to be a water main leak under the street that's seeping to the surface and running off Since I don't remember seeing water flowing from this leak recently, I'd call EBMUD to report it. ((BTW, EBMUD barricades are still at the curb in this location, but are not currently in use around anything.)
Water is running down Wickson Ave. in the curb to Walker
Ave., Oakland, CA, 94610. There's continuous but low water
flow. Water is seeping out of the pavement in front of 494, 496 and 481 Wickson Ave.
Although flow is not high, it's a waste and it's coming up
in multiple locations on the street.
Spoke to EBMUD rep at 2:42pm today. She said they've been keeping an eye on this leak and
checked it yesterday. They estimated it was about 5gpm and I agreed that it's probably
still about that.
They'll send someone out tonight to check on it. It's scheduled for repair, just not
sure when.
So I figured it would be better to let neighbors know that EBMUD is aware of this issue and will address it when they can. No need to call it in - unless it gets bigger or there's some obvious change.
300 gallons per hour = 7200 per 24 hours and they cannot equate whats going on under the street. This is how sink holes are created. EBMUD has not impressed me with getting things done in a timely manner.
