Description
Clear cutting for “the view”: Clear cutting and destruction of trees and vegetation of critical bank area within 200 feet of water on shoreline property. Clear cut native trees, destroyed the natural ecological systems on the bank. Cut down established trees- Western Hemlock, Pacific Ninebark, and Big Leaf marble trees that were approx 30 feet tall (or more) were observed to be removed. They left the logs on the bank in areas susceptible to land slides, in addition to the destruction of the natural ecosystem. Displaced animals (river otters, deer, raccoons, etc), confirmed by West Sound Wildlife Shelter (involved because displaced river otters came into residential area after the clear cutting).
Violation of Section 16.12.030.B.3 – Vegetation Management of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code.
