CVPD responds to reports of graffiti, street repair and other issues. But for some reason, abandoned vehicles, the bane of single-family dwellings in R1 neighborhoods, are ignored. Covid staffing issues? Maybe. Senior Patrol on Covid hiatus? Maybe. Chula Vista unwilling to address the serious issue of visual blight by residents that own 8 or more vehicles per household and store them on the street? Definitely! Illegally store RVs on the street? No problem. Illegally store trailers and boats on the street? No problem. Inconsiderate residents taking up all of YOUR home's curb space and everyone else's curb space? No problem. Welcome to the wasteland a.k.a. Chula Juana.

They moved the car and boat 2ft forward. This issue is not closed. They trailer is not roadworthy.

It’s not abandoned! We moved it out of the property because we’re fixing backyard. We have parked in front of our home. Thanks for asking and being so supportive. Stop harassing us! There’s plenty of street space where the boat is moved around to following CA state rules and time frames. We’re in need of having our and I assure you that as soon as our yard work is finished we will have it off the public street of the City that we too pay taxes to.

"Abandoned" is a legal term to define this category of code violations. Chula Vista Municipal Code 10.52.495, "Parking of recreational vehicles prohibited on City streets except by permit." Recreational vehicle is defined as: "camp trailers, 5th-wheel trailers, boats, trailers, dune buggies and RVs." Permits are good for 24 hours only.

This issue was reported on Feb 23. You responded on Apr 21. That indicates your "fixing backyard" has been a two-month long project. These parking codes are to prevent visual blight and you are in violation.

Agreed with above. Flat tires and dirt on the wheels is not a temp situation. I'm sorry you have a storage issue. I'll keep reporting this if not corrected. It's our community as well
