There is absolutely no indication that this is damaging the cobblestone in any way. Several people have expressed desire to let it be since it has become a wetland supporting several species of amphibians and may now qualify as protected under the Wetlands Act. The head of the local tree stewards asked that it be allowed to remain as well.
If there is extra City workforce time, how about cleaning the overgrowth that has resulted from the failed orchard efforts of the tree stewards!
A pond on a cobblestone road does not make a lot of sense! Also to put down the work the tree stewards do for the city of Richmond does not make sense...I would think the city of Richmond as well as the citizens would want to support the tree stewards whenever possible...hours of clean up, planting and watering trees, mowing trails and hillside near dog park! As for the failed orchard...what have you done for RVA lately? Some ideas work and other don't. What you consider a failure may be a success to another.
