Straw or pine bales is a temporary measure that can be used for erosion control, we allow the use of pine straw bales if the supplier is out of wheat straw.
Will continue to monitor the site.
I was of the impression that the perimeter of any disturbed land should be protected by a dug-in silt fence and/or gravel wash at vehicular entrances and that hay or straw bales should be used and STAKED into place. If this contractor's supplier is out of hay or straw bales, then he could certainly use another. Most every other construction site seems to be able to locate hay or straw. Please clarify if you feel I am incorrect.
Silt fence or hay bales may be used on a downward slope, where water may run off site. there is no requirement for silt fence around the entire lot minus the constructuction exit.
Thanks for the clarification. Then silt fencing is required along the downhill Ellijay side, and fully along the southern border. I had thought so, hence the reporting. Could you please insure compliance?
