Description

A contractor working for the city (I presume, as there are no identifications whatsoever on their on-site vehicles today) has been regularly closing streets in this area (see attached pic). My understanding, from Councilman Agelasto, is that a permit is required for closure of a city street and that permit must be on site. Does this agent, who have been working in this area for several weeks now, with zero notification to residents about the nature or duration of the work, have the authority to close a city street or is it just a convenient for them to do so? These closures have consistently been impromptu, lacking any effort to warn or re-route traffic such as detour signs, etc. Please investigate what I suspect is an attempt to avoid paying proper permit fees and coordinate road closures with the city.
