Description
It is a skinny pothole about 2 inches wide and 16-18 inches long. I have hit this several times over the years. 2 years ago I hit it and marked it with white paint. Last year I noticed the markings were gone. Saturday I hit it on my bicycle and it blew both tires and bent the rear rim. Cost ~ $175. I am prepared to pick up some asphault patch and repair the holes but have heard that the highway department does not like this approach.
I have heard many other riders that have hit this spot also. the sun was bright but the area is quite shaded and th ehole is almost invisible to other than pedestrians, (there were several that saw me hit it). It is like a wide crack close to the middle of the road, on a curve. I was very close to hitting the blackberry bushes on the curve as I was sliding on the flat tires sideways, recovering from the impact. I will try to get a photo of the hole.

SW Kingston Drive in Portland, Oregon is not a State Highway so it does not fall under ODOT responsibility. I believe SW Kingston Drive may be a City of Portland Street. Here is a Google map for reference:
