Dear Resident:
The Macon Bibb County Solid Waste Department has extended the recycling program and as a result of this extension, your residence has been chosen to participate in the Macon Bibb County Single Stream Recycling Project. This project is a simple and environmentally friendly approach to recycling in which all recycled materials goes into the new 65 gallon blue roll-off cart.
Today, the Macon Bibb County Solid Waste Department has delivered and registered a new 65 gallon blue recycle roll-off container to your property. The collection will occur on the first (1st) and third (3rd) Thursday of every month.
Below is a list of clean recyclable materials that will be collected:
Clean paper, mail
Flattened cardboard
Newspaper, magazines, catalogs
Phonebooks, paperback books
Wrapping paper (No foil or ribbons)
Plastic bottles & jugs (no caps or lids)
Clean plastic dairy tubs (Yogurt, margarine, etc.)
Aluminum, steel and tin-plated cans
Glass
It is imperative that you place only the above items in the recycling container. Failure to comply will result in discontinuing your recycling service.
If you currently have a small blue recycling bin, place it at curbside, and we will remove it from your property.
Sincerely,
Larry Dunning
Assistant Solid Waste Director
