I would love to see train rides for vintage trains coming to Huntsville's old Depot. Currently, I drive up to Chattanooga to ride the trains with the Tennessee Valley Railroad (especially the Autumn Leaf Specials) and I think they would love the opportunity to come to Huntsville with its railroad history and museums. A community event such as the Steam into Summerville events in Summerville, GA for the trains could also be held at the Depot or somewhere near the Depot and would end up bringing people to Huntsville from all over. twenty five years ago we had steam train rides from Huntsville to Chat. They were great! I was told that Norfolk-Southern wanted to charge too much to rent the tracks so the trips ended.
I'd love to see them come back!
