This has been an ongoing problem. There was even shots fired into the bar a couple of years ago.

There is an established track record of police interaction and more than one year ago a complaint was made with the liquor authority. They did report that the bar was being investigated but could make no further comment. Our best approach is to use the nuisance abatement law because it is clear the liquor authority is not the answer.

i agree with your point but you also cant say it shouldn't be reopened ever. if the owners change and it is reopened with a different atmosphere then that's only fair. Not to mention that you need proof of all of the points you made so that it can be shut down. As of now no one with power to close a place of business if going to look this post without some concrete evidence.

The police reports speak volumes. These are not allegations but established fact. It is a blight on the neighborhood.

kingston in general IS A BIG MESS the drugs , killings gangs , living cost. i have lived here my whole life and now im raising my kids here. they need to clean all the trash out of here including the wellfare and alow the people that care about this city take charge NOT THE MONEY HUNGRYS that just want to raise our taxes and complain that OH THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO OR THE FAMOS LINE (WE ARE DOING THE BEST WE CAN) (NOT) i hope the new mayor does not take us for a slay ride and leave all of us in the cold. bottom line THE RESIDENCE SHOULD RUN THIS COMMUNITY.

I remember when Cedar Tavern was considered a blight on the community and blamed for all of the drug and gang problems associated with the mid-town area. KPD did EVERYTHING in their power to shut it down and eventually it worked...my question to all of you that "blame" the bar, has mid-town become a better, safer, less violent place to live since Cedar Tavern closed in 2003?!?!? I know if I was asked that question I'd have to say that there has been NO improvement to the area that cost the city hundreds possibly thousands of police man hours to post a police car outside the bar 24 hours a day until not one person felt comfortable going inside to have a drink for fear of being pulled over when they left.

Just another dump in Kingston that's allowed....
