Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for contacting the Citizen Help Center.
Service Request# 110557 has been submitted to Roads and Drainage requesting road paving.
Please feel free to call us at “311” within DeKalb County or 404 371-2000 outside of DeKalb County if we can further assist you.
A: The Roads and Drainage Division responds to requests for street resurfacing and/or paving. Each year a DeKalb County road rating engineering technician inspects approximately 2,115 miles of County roadway (consisting of more than 8,122 streets) using elements of the Georgia Department of Transportation's (DOT) pavement condition rating system to evaluate the structural condition of the roadways.
Twelve kinds of pavement distress are evaluated and each road will have a score between 0 and 60. Those streets with ratings of 30 or higher are eligible for submission to the Georgia DOT for possible resurfacing under their Local Assistance Resurfacing Program (LARP).
