Thanks Mike. It is a dangerous intersection for many reasons. The speed limit on that setion of Washington Street should not be 55 mph. It is too fast. To turn into Slade road from the east, you have to come to an almost complete stop. Many cars have nearly been rear-ended. Also, the volume of traffic from Slade and Brook has increased markedly over the years. Many cars and trucks line up there at certain times of day. Also, the number of trucks entering the intersection from the quarry, Stewarts, etc. has increased. A speed limit of 45 mph on Washington Street ( a determination that ultimately rests with the state) would make it much easier for cars and trucks to safely negotiate the intrsection.

I use Brook Road all the time. I have to turn left and yes it is dangerous. Also people are always going through the stop sign.

i take brook rd every day to go home from work. when you get to the corner of brook and washington there is a deep ditch, which makes it difficult to take a right turn on to washinton (rte 29). it's also worse in the winter after a snow fall and cannot see the ditch. i don't know who is respnsible for that corner, but it's a hazard and someone will eventually wind up in it. it really should be repaired or at least filled in with rocks to make it safer.

Like I've said before, Pallette has been there for 90 years. Why is it a problem all of a sudden.

Private companies will be a thing of the past if we can't tolerate a bit of incovenience at times. I remember the old times in Saratoga when there were corner stores. Big box stores helped to eliminate, however, people moving to neighborhoods where they were did not like all the traffic and delivery trucks, etc. THEY WENT AWAY and now no one would allow that in their neighborhood. Let's just all get along and let people do their thing. If you don't like it, don't go near it. Don't buy a house in their vacinity.

It is still a dangerous intersection. In fact, it is more dangerous than when this was first posted due to the increased traffic on Brook, Washington and Slade. NYS DOT had promised to follow up and possibly install a flashing yellow/red signal but this never happened. The comments in 2012 by LB about Palette have nothing to do with the concerns expressed about the intersection. In fact, Palette would benefit from lower speed limits and a traffic signal at this intersection.

There was a fatal motorcycle accident at this intersection last week. There have been numerous accidents in the past. Some of those accidents resulted in personal injuries but this was the first fatality that I know of in the recent past.

The intersection of Washington Street (Route 29), Slade Road and Brook Road continues to be dangerous. The 55 mph speed limit on Route 29 in that vicinity continues to be too fast because cars have to come to nearly a complete stop in order to turn into Slade or Brook Roads. The view of Route 29 on-coming traffic from Brook and Slade is partially obstructed. The volume of traffic on Washington Street (Route 29) and Brook Road has increased substantially in recent years with many more large trucks. A traffic signal at this intersection even more necessary. There is a history of serious accidents, at least two of which were fatal, and many near misses at this intersection.
