Description

2 catch basins, one at 28 Wilridge rd and one between 18 and 11 Godfrey lane are full of debris both were installed by the town of Wilton in the late 1980's. The excess debris is beginning to clog the drain pipe to the wetlands(which has been maintained by residents) between 11 and 18 Godfrey, resulting in excessive buildup of rocks and sediment at spillway

also asked...
Q. What area is affected by the problem?
A. If the drains become fully clogged and inoperable all of Godfrey lane will be affected with heavy rain washing undermining the roadway. Numbers 18 and 11 will be especially affected.
Q. How extensive is the problem?
A. The drain pipe to the wetlands, which was installed by Wilton PW is half blocked. Residents have been maintaining this for years but the buildup due to the catch basins being full is becoming overwhelming. The sediment buildup will eventually render all drainage on the lane inoperable, which would be disastrous. Excessive silt deposits are ending up in wetlands. The two catch basins being cleaned would allow residents to clear the spillway due to decreased deposits of debris
