Description

Although there is a traffic light at Redwood & Crestmont Road, this does not prevent cars from speeding at high speeds due to the fact that the light is primarily set to green. We are asking that the light be adjusted red when they are no cars, prompting cars coming from Skyline & Redwood to come to a complete stop before turning green and allowing them to go. Because the light remains green, most cars come speeding at high from Skyline & Redwood all the way through the light at Redwood & Crestmont without stopping even past Campus road. This is a .6 mile stretch of road where cars are speeding throughout the day and especially at night at upwards of 65MPH on Redwood. The windy road/speeding has led many cars to lose control, jump the curb and crash on the street and almost into the houses on Kingwood Road. This has happened many times, and can easily be seen as evidenced by the burned rubber tire marks in the street and on the sidewalk in front of the houses 1 Kingwood Road and 2 Kingwood Road. This frequently happens between 10pm-2am. We often hear the cars speeding and screeching as they've jumped the curb. Neighbors often run out to the street after hearing the crashes to check on the cars and drivers to ensure that no one has been seriously injured.
