    I am writing to you today to share a significant safety concern affecting the street of Chadwick Way in our city Benicia. The street lights on Chadwick Way provide insufficient amount of light and leave the street dark during the night time hours. The street is mostly luminated by the garage lights most residents have installed however most of them are motion activated. We are afraid this can result in serious accidents or injury in the future. Especially with the winter season approaching we will lose daylight a lot earlier in the day and of course rainfall will only worsen the situation. We have noticed many other surrounding streets have different city street lamps installed that provide significantly more light than those on Chadwick Way. Please give this concern some priority to keep our streets safe. Thank you for your service to our community and I hope to hear from you soon.

    Tripping hazard due to cracked, uneven sidewalk including raised bricks. Someone fell down here today around 3:30PM and landed hard. She injured her arm/wrist as far as I know.

    According to the Holiday Schedule our garbage and recycling was supposed to be picked up last Friday. So far the recycling has not been picked up on our entire street.

    A disabled citizen asked about the timing of signal crossing at First Street and Military. Cars traveling north on First St. waiting to make a left onto Military West get a green left turn light at the same time that pedestrians are signaled to cross same intersection. Is there a way to adjust timing so cars are not crossing the crosswalk until pedestrians have cleared intersection?

    Can someone look into retiming the traffic lights at W 7th and Military West? Since the recent construction it has been self defeating to use the west bound turn lane on Military to turn South on W 7th. The lights are lasting too long in all directions at that intersection.

    West 3rd from K to G and West I in many places are dangerously in need of repair. These areas don’t have sidewalks, forcing the many people who walk here, many of us 40 and up, to pick our way across this terrain. Why should we have to resort to petitions? Heck, I’ll write a check to cover part of it if only to keep from falling again. You’d think our desire to avoid litigation would cause us to act.
