St. Charles PLUS

Deteriorating sidewalk. This was reported over three years ago which was rated a two out three per the city grading scale.

1. Why do citizens receive second or third tier service?
2. Why are new sidewalks created throughout old developments never having them (ie, such as Northside subdivisions)?
3. How is three years considered acceptable?
4. Is this report even on the books? Paint has dissipated with the Egyptian pyramids with minimal visibility.

Any citizen services are appreciated.

Asphalt patches were placed on Main Street near the intersection of Main and Monroe. Asphalt is not appropriate and wrong on the brick street. These two patches should be removed and the bricks thoroughly cleaned immediately.

Used car dealership parks cars so the are blocking most if the sidewalk. Very dangerous for those trying to use it on a very busy street

There is an extremely dangerous sinkhole/collapsing seawall on the north lake bordering Hempstead Street. This lake is in a Neighborhood Improvement District which means it is available for use by all citizens of the city. And it certainly is used by many members of the general public. Adults and children are often fishing or just walking along the shore. Unfortunately this part of the shoreline has become a serious deathtrap, on the verge of collapsing on someone, burying them under tons of rock. It needs to be fixed immediately. The meager sticks with yellow tape need to be replaced with sturdy posts and orange fencing until repairs are complete.

Noise Control

Faded City Welcome Sign - The welcome sign at the I-70 exit at First Capitol is faded and worn out. It says, "The Citizens of St. Charles Welcome You." Need to replace. Couldn't we have a classier sign...looks so cheap. Remove if the City is not going to maintain it.

Bricks missing from planter--on walkway from city garage.

Not sure if this is the park's responsibility or SBD or someone else but the Saint Charles history sign in Frontier Park by the old train station is really looking bad. It has obviously been neglected for some time. It would sure look nice if somebody decided to take care of it.

Retaining wall between the St. Charles Starbucks and the gas station is not being maintained to code. Several bricks are falling, misplaced and disheveled. It's a mess with the rocks, and large weeds grow in the warm weather months. I have reported this unkempt retaining wall at the Fifth Street and Booneslick Starbucks in the past, and it keeps getting worse.

This modern surveillance fixture looks highly inappropriate and is against historic guidelines. At least paint it black and why would you need both a fixed and remote controlled camera in the same spot right above the sidewalk?
