  • Chapel And State New Haven Ct - 770 Chapel Big

A dozen or more bikers paused at this red light, looked around, then all blew right through it.

Either you want to be treated like other vehicles and respected as such, or not. Don't make other cyclists look bad by playing by your own rules. If you want to share the road, then obey the traffic laws.

Entire stretch of Union Street between Water and Fair is unwalkable on one side. Trash and overgrown vegetation and a sprawling homeless camp complete with makeshift toilet...all across from a school. Opposite the proposed Vision Trail. A complete mess.

Pedestrian signal not sync with red light. There is no reason to disallow pedestrians from crossing here while on coming traffic has a red and it's a one-way street.

Timing of lights on Orange Street and Whitney is asinine. You can't drive more than one block of the time without hitting a red light. Also, the yellow lights are way too short. If you drive too slow you get steamrolled by a bus, if you driving their speed, you hit every light in town.

Seriously, why is this not a real button? These stupid plates are too hard to push. I am a big guy, and sometimes I have to push these four or five times with my full weight behind it. Why is every single one of these like this? Every other signal in town is just a simple, easy to pushbutton.

Two cars left parked overnight in two-hour- maximum street parking.
  • 98 Olive Street New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Wooster Square
This property is wildly overgrown and needs to be maintained. The sidewalk on Union Street is just as overgrown as well. The little pockets on the front of the property on court street where the trees are planted are also completely overgrown.

There is a young skunk that is either living on this UI property at the corner of Union and Court Street, or the leasing property across the street. That property is home to a law office, and is very overgrown.

Open the door of our apartment building in the skunk was right in our face, narrowly avoided getting sprayed by pulling the door shut

The large side gate at the Union Street dog park was left unpinned again. All it takes is one halfhearted push from a medium-size dog, like 50 pounds, to push this open if the pin isn't dropped. Homeless people with bikes consistently use this gate to bring their bikes into the park when they're sleeping or drinking. They are the ones were not dropping the pin.

If the parks department really need to access through this gate to get to the trash cans, then can they at least put a lock on it? Maybe something with a combination, so the community can open it when we need to do work on the park also?

A little pocket of land at corner of Union and Chapel has been transformed by neighborhood volunteers from blight into a little garden.

If you walk by and can pour some water on one of the plants when you pass, it will help a lot to get them established.

Even if you just save the cup from your morning coffee, fill it up before you leave the house or work, and water one plant with it on your way by, you will be making a big difference.

    Thank you!

We are looking to create a trail of dog paws (stenciled/spray paint) to help boost awareness of the Union Street Dog Park and help knit the area together.

The paw-trail will lead from the new garden at the corner of Union/Chapel to the entrance of the dog park on Union Street.

We hope to have the paw-trail connect the dog park and this corner to 360 State and an area close to Wooster Square.

Add bird houses to trees in the Union Street Dog Park, to spruce it up, enhance the atmosphere, and boost urban wildlife. There are some great trees we could install these in around the park!

    Please up-vote and comment!

Three rough looking gentlemen hanging out in union street dog park across from Firestone. Not supposed to be anyone there without a dog.
