Sec. 9-1-36(a) The following buildings and structures shall be required to have a certificate of compliance issued by the buildings and safety engineering department: (2) One- and two-family dwellings, or any part of a residential structure, which are occupied by persons pursuant to an oral or written rental contract or lease agreement for monetary compensation. (d) It shall be unlawful to occupy or use a building, premises, or structure required to have a certificate of compliance under this article, or cause same to be occupied, without the required certificate of compliance for the building, premises, or structure. 9-1-206a "Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or deterioration in the walls or interior portion of the building or structure." Plants growing out of debris on the roof causes rot of the underlying roof deck, which will cause the roof to collapse.

9-1-206b "Water running off of the roof shall not be discharged in a manner that undermines the foundation or maintenance of any building" The detached downspout is sending water straight to the foundation, which will cause the foundation to be undermined.

This garage opens onto the street and poses a dangerous condition. The timbers have collapsed and present sharp points that could easily harm a child. Children walk past this garage on their way to school. It needs to be boarded-up.

The yard waste bags were placed at the curb yesterday, 4/26/2018. I witnessed a contractor working under the guidance of the owner: Jasmine McMorris, Great Lakes Property, 10709 Morang Drive, Detroit MI 48224.
  • Potholes Acknowledged
Alleyway East Of Van Dyke Between E Lantz St And Rolyat St Detroit, Michigan - US Congressional District MI13

The alleyway has collapsed so that no traffic can pass. This alley is an area behind active businesses on Van Dyke so the blockage causes significant traffic congestion. I spoke with someone from the water department looking at another issue and he believed the alleyway problem has already been assessed so that what we need now is an action plan.

The problem may involve a broken main sewer line, which is the responsibility of the property owner who, in this case, may be unable to pay. This may require special consideration but one way or another, this alleyway needs to be fixed so cars can pass.

Furthermore, the hole is deep enough to create a hazard.

Tenants at 1117 Peralta street dumped this sofa 3-days ago on the sidewalk at this address. After the neighbors confronted the dumpers yesterday, last night they attempted to dump the couch around the corner on 12th street. Neighbors returned the sofa to the originating address this AM. The landlord, Rafael Sanchez, (510) 604-3983, refuses to take responsibility. Please contact landlord and make him responsible for the dumping by his tenants.

At the entrance to South Prescott Park and to the right just as you enter the park at Peralta and 3rd, the trash receptacle is missing. There is a small stand alone metal trash bin but it is too small and always overflowing. Please install a regular City of Oakland concrete trash container at this location like are located elsewhere in the park and around town.

This is the same issue as Issue ID: 783304. This is an easement for the Post Office. The problem will not go away until something is done to fence the area off.

This time, actually clean the space up instead of doing a partial job like last time.

55-gallon drum, assorted trash, major green waste

  • (1610 14th Street ?) Corner Of 14th St. And Peralta St. Oakland, California - Prescott Oakland Point

This decrepit property is attracting on-going dumping and illegal behavior across 14th street at the laundromat. The fence is in shambles, the building is unpainted and disheveled and instead of clearing the property of waste, it is all spread out so the property is a foot higher than the sidewalk.

Please do not treat this as a request to remove illegal dumping. In this case, the dumping is a symptom not the cause. The cause is a property owner who is attempting to avoid the reasonable cost of responsible property ownership by making everyone else pay through lower property values, higher rates of crime, drain on City services and a lowered quality of life.

  • 1619 12th Street Oakland, CA - Prescott Oakland Point
The tenants, not the owner, of 1619 12th Street have "girdled" the mature tree in-front of the house between the sidewalk and the street by cutting a band of bark around the tree's trunk (see photo). One of the tenants complained to me about the smell and mess the of the tree's fruit. So, rather than pick up the fruit when it drops once a year, the residents have taken it upon themselves to outright kill the largest tree on the block.
  • Willow Street Between 13th And 14th Streets -- Willow Park Oakland, California - Prescott Oakland Point

There are 6-sets of swings, 2 for toddlers (basket) and 4 for kids (strap). The 4 strap-seat swings are missing. The 2 toddler swings seem to be in working order.

Also, the rubber play surface under the swings and a few feet away by the jungle-gym is missing in large sections.
