More and More STOLEN PLANTS Easter 2011:
The budding multistem pink lily I planted last week, and the three dark blue hyacinths, GONE, each leaving a hole. Why don't they buy their own for $6 or $7, as I do for our coop, at the green market? Is this because my street is clogged by angry, bored gridlocked NJ drivers avoiding the one way toll on the Verrazano bridge? The perp must carry a bag, or have somewhere to put the plant. WHO DOES THIS??? someone in the neighborhood would rather see the flowers for weeks as they gently blossom. Violation of our generous, happy spirit!
May 20th,2011 we just planted a nice small tree, a Westchester grown Japanese maple, and some flowers around the base. Let's hope they thrive. Several neighbors complimented it as they walked by.
I dunno, they are still stolen, no one returned them, and n one apologized, or seyd that it mattered, that thye'd try to stop this kind of thing, that they appreciated the eforts homeowners in soho made to enliven and make cheerful the neighborhood. As there seems to be a consensus that this might be ok - to steal flowers- I think this needs to stay up.
April 21, 2012 STOLEN FLOWERS AGAIN; between 2:30 and 6:30 on a sunny Saturday afternoon someone took the blue hydrangea from my planter that I had just put out for Easter. Lots of people enjoy the effort I make for our store, our block, our area, but someone gets away with wrecking it. Thief. Why doesn't someone stop them? Who takes healthy beautiful flowers OUT of a setting? only a Thief.
