Meant to say punctured sole of her shoe, cutting all the way through the sole. The bottom of her foot was also punctured but not as deep.

It's pretty obvious from the pic that nobody LEFT it like this. Ths appears to happen from a vehicle hitting and breaking a sign pole. Of course the person, if an employee of the city, who retrieved the sign that was most assuredly left lying on the ground exercise extremely poor judgment and negligence by not reporting the stub and/orplacing a cone or something over this.

Possible fair point about my assumption that a maintenance worker left the shard like that, @gargar, but would like to hear that from DPW. Thanks.

Nobody would leave a safety issue like this. Apparently we can all guess how it happened but the real answer is we can’t find every problem in the City. That’s why we depend on people like you to report these. Now that you did my staff will resolve it immediately.

The DPW removed the broken sign post this morning. Safety issues like this get resolved quickly when reported.

Thanks, Bob. Glad the stub was removed. I believe you when you say nobody on your team would deliberately leave a safety issue like this. But what about accidentally? Is there documentation of what happened to this sign post in the first place such that the stub existed at all?
