Description
I am writing to request the City take a look at a significant drainage issue on McCoy Road (above the recent landslide on Bungalow Ave).
There are multiple drainage streams carrying a significant amount of water that are ineffectively being rerouted into one stream. The water from these streams is directed along the uphill side of the McCoy Road by an unimproved drainage swale. The swale is undersized for the typical flows and may be inadequately designed for the drainage configuration; nor is the swale free of obstructions. Every year the water from these streams regularly spills over the asphalt curb and into the roadway, resulting in ponding and a significant amount of soil/rock deposited in the road.
I ask that the City improve the drainage swale to mitigate the ponding and to decrease the potential for infiltration into the subsoils directly uphill from multiple residences.
I have uploaded a diagram with photos to help describe the issue.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and I look forward to hearing from you.
