At 5 am, All American Waste is picking up trash on Grand Avenue and disturbing everyone's sleep. We do not need a second trash company violating the New Haven noise ordinance and disregarding the well-being of New Haven residents. It was truck 4426 plate K53626 heading west on Grand Avenue way too early.

There are two very large residential properties that are being stopped from development as a result of legal holdup by the owners of the smoothie property. While one can make an argument that competition will be good for the smoothie building that argument should not have to be made as the development of these buildings is good for NHV.

They're at it again. Private Garbage pickup company at 5:35AM.
Several people posted about this about three years ago and it stopped. Now it is starting again. They were here today at 5:35
What part of illegal don't they understand? Do they need to be sued?
I am all for the gentle approach but at this point this garbage hauler has already been informed, changed its ways and is now resuming illegal hours. At this point they should be cited by police
When are police going to cite them? Reading over in East Rock - they are having similar problems.
It is one thing to show up early, it is another thing to start doing it again after you know that residents are really disturbed by it and have spoken out and after you've been told to stop. At that point, police violation pad should be out, citing them for every violation.
Is this not a quality of life issue? Is this garbage company not a nuisance under the PD's quality of life spiel or is that police policy only for harassing the homeless, poor and black people?
Please cite these renegade garbage collectors

We heard that the city will install bike racks on request. Can we have two on Chestnut street?
Our street has many people with bikes, but no parking meters and very few street signs, which are mostly too close to trees to lock bikes to in any case.

The new LED street light is directly opposite our house, and is angled so it shines directly onto our house. Please adjust the angle to reduce the glare coming into our bedroom. It also seems incredibly bright, can this be reduced?

Every weekday cars speed well over 30 MPH on this residential road. It seems as though a lot of people are bypassing more car-friendly, wider roads like State St to commute to and from work. Perhaps people are heading to Wooster Street... not sure.
Either way, some sort of speed enforcement should be put into place. My suggestion would be something as easy as a few speed bumps or maybe even stop signs. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood crossing over Olive Street either by people heading to downtown, walking their dogs or just living there. I can't tell you how many times I've parked my car or tried walking to downtown and how long I've had to wait at crosswalks for cars to stopping zooming by.

This was just closed but a very recent examination of the situation shows that the situation in same as ever. Narrow-tube garbage bins set inside much larger rubbish fixtures at waver entry to Wooster Square clogg immediately when the smallest pizza box gets set on top the narrow inserts and soon all trash spill onto the ground.
