Kudos, kudos and more kudos to whomever at the NHDOT brought these new solar-powered flashing crosswalk signals to New Haven. I used one today at 400 Blake and drivers actually stopped!!! PLEASE INSTALL AS MANY OF THESE AS POSSIBLE ON ELLA GRASSO BOULEVARD CROSSWALKS. This street is notorious for a complete lack of cooperation on the part of drivers, especially in the Edgewood and Beaver Hill sections. Again - excellent work, and please let us see more of these all over the city.

Most patients and visitors get off the bus at the corner of chapel and beers, in front of Yale New Haven Hospital (HSR Campus) main entrance. This campus serves thousands of people per day. There is no crosswalk and people getting off the bus have to cross a street that's busy with traffic weaving across lanes at 45 miles per hour.
Please add immediately:
1. Improved bus stop with better ramps, shelter, and lighting
2. Traffic calming and a lit crosswalk to get from the bus to the hospital
3. Buffered bike lane to help narrow street and reduce speeds.

I bicycle pretty much anywhere, but I have to admit that I feel pretty shook up whenever I ride on Boulevard. Paving a trail in West River Memorial Park alongside the road, combined with crosswalk improvements, would both make Boulevard a complete street and add significantly to New Haven’s greenway trail network.
