Notified About

  • 120 Starrs Rd Yarmouth, NS - Yarmouth Town
lights are not working properly, constantly showing left turn arrow when no traffic turning left, seem to be in automatic mode, not working with pads in street
(I understand from a source that this issue is being looked into and parts are being ordered- thanks)
  • 100 Brunswick St. Yarmouth, NS - Yarmouth Town
In front of 100 Brunswick st. (newly paved section of Brunswick). In the right-turning lane, there is an area on the side of the street that extends out maybe 10 feet or so. It is continuously wet, even when all other areas are dry, so maybe there is a problem underneath with a leak of some sort. It is a real problem when it freezes and becomes a big sheet of ice on the street. I have noticed it non-stop for the past 3 weeks, maybe more. I have included a photo.
  • 14 Commercial Street Yarmouth, Nova Scotia - Yarmouth Town
Broken Glass in the Sk8 park. See photo for location. This is a hazard and if possible could the town parks staff go to skate park and remove glass and check for other hazards please?
  • 60 Vancouver St Hebron, NS B0W 1X0, Canada - Yarmouth Town

Sidewalk needs to be extended at busy curve in the road.

For people walking from main shore road, this area is extremely dangerous. The sidewalk begins at the middle of the curve in the road. If you happen to be on the wrong side of the road, and you want to get over to the sidewalk on the other side, you must cross at a very dangerous point.

This section of road is heavily used by both vehicles and pedestrians. It must be one of the most dangerous sections of road in the town/municipality. To add to the danger, there is a small hill just outside of the town limits creating a blind crest. The whole stretch is an accident waiting to happen.

It would be great to see a joint effort here with the municipality to extend the sidewalk from its current termination down main shore road at least to the intersection of lakeside road.

  • Cottage St Arcadia, NS - Yarmouth Town

I've seen a lot of people run this red light. They're watching the light from Cottage street and as soon as that turns red they proceed forward despite it still being a red light for them. This morning my wife was on Starrs road and turning left onto Cottage, she had the blinking green arrow so it was her right of way, but she had to slam on her brake and was almost hit by a cabbie who ran his red light. Any ETA for this light being fixed? I know this was brought up over a month ago but it's still outstanding and is still a big problem. And if not I would suggest putting up some kind of sign explaining to cars to only go on a solid green light, not a blinking green. We take it for granted that people know how to use traffic lights, but many people tend to switch to auto-pilot and always assume its their turn to go.

    Thank you.

  • 67 Starrs Rd Yarmouth, NS B5A 2T5, Canada - Yarmouth Town
Traffic can't get across Starr's Rd going north on Pleasant St on one green light. Most of the cars turn right onto Starr's Rd, why not make a right turn only lane and a left/straight lane? The line of traffic over the noon hour can stretch from Starr's down to Parade. This is unreal for a town the size of Yarmouth.
  • Pleasant Street Yarmouth, NS - Yarmouth Town
Between Parade Street and Starrs Road along Pleasant Street there are no garbage cans. I walk this stretch very often and there is always litter everywhere. I walk my dog, and I pick up after her but I have to walk all the way to YCMHS or Starrs Rd Irving to dispose of it. There is a bench along the sidewalk, across from NS Power, and I think there should be a garbage can with the bench.
Currently there is litter all over the area by the bench.
  • 27 Forbes St Yarmouth, NS B5A 3Z9, Canada - Yarmouth Town
The white decorative piece on top of the Town Hall is extremely rusty and needs to be re-painted.
  • 558 Evangeline Trail Yarmouth, NS B5A 2S9, Canada - Yarmouth Town

Walk signal not working at starrs and main. The walk signal on the south east corner is not lighting up for "walk" and "do not walk".

    Please address.

    Cheers,

  • 310 Pleasant Street Yarmouth, NS - Yarmouth Town

The town is undertaking a multi million dollar project to improve a section of pleasant street. Such information should be accessible to the public on the town's new website. A lot of tax dollars are being spent here, but no one is informed as to what is exactly happening.

I searched the website, but the only information on this project that i could find were the tender results, and a notice that there will be work being done in the area.

It would be nice if the town could put up a description of the work being done, some blueprints/plans of the project, and maybe an artists rendering of the completed project, if available.

It would be great to see a section on the website which shows upcoming, current, and future public works projects where the public could see the great things you are doing with their money.
