I am completely disgusted how the NHPD and HANH are both handling the drug trafficking in this area. On several occasions I have seen with my own eyes the exchanges in broad daylight. Like any other concerned citizen, I have contacted the NHPD provided them with plates and discriptions of the seller and buyer for years, and still no changes. Sad part is they know who these kids are. These condo complexes are within 1500 feet of an elementary school. Children are seen everywhere in this area. It makes me sick to my stomach to see what they are being exposed to. I am sick and tired of this and unfortunately resorted to moving. I have been a long time New Haven resident and feel ashamed to call it my home. What will need to happen in order for change to take place???

Please help us set up armed patrols in the 1425 Quinnipiac area. There is a large amount of drug activity from the New Haven public housing authority (Saint Anthony 1, 2, and the Rowe Houses beginning on 1378 Quinnipiac Ave) as well as Quinnipiac Terrace owned and managed by Trinity Management Company. We've been complaining to the NHPD, Sgt. Anastasio and previous district managers with absolutely no progress. People have been complaining to the police dept and after reviewing comments here on Seeclickfix it has been an ongoing issue since 2010! In 2011 the condo association got together with a petition which was sent to State Senator Martin Looney, Mayor Destefano, Rosa DeLaura, Police Chief Esserman, Sgt. Anastatio, Gov. Malloy, Senator Blumenthal, and US Attorney Stein. We did not receive a response back from any of these individuals to comment on our concerns. We have 2 foreclosures in our condo because the owners could not take the crimes committed and rapid drug dealer in our complex with no response from our police department, so they just give up and let their condos go. Our unit owners are scared to let their children play outside due to the fear of the rapid drug dealing and the quality of life. NHPD has abandoned the residences of Quinnipiac Ave and let the drug dealers deal drugs with complete immunity. If anyone would like to help to start an armed patrol or have the contact for the Rabbi in Westville that started an armed patrol there a few years ago, it would be appreciated. The only way to get our community back is if we take it back!

A month ago it was reported that people were selling drugs around 1361-1363 and 1423 - 1425 Quinnipiac Avenue. It is still happening and we don't see police in the area. The seller(s) live in the Housing Authority buildings at 1435 Quinnipiac Avenue and also come from the projects on Eastern St. to peddle drugs here.Calls are made to the NHPD but no one responds.

  • 140-180 Concord Street New Haven, Connecticut - East Shore

Several young belligerents, one of which is masked, ride along Concord on their street illegal dirt bikes at high speeds. They do this several times a day, often times at night, and have shouted threats and obscenities at various people. Today, they rode on someone's property and revved their engines, gauging the grass.

The cops have been called several times without response and this is disgusting. What is needed to get a police response in this city? Is a felony the only thing that warrants attention?

690-692 Quinnipiac Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Fair Haven Heights

The Blue House behind Grand Vin is selling drugs. The particular person(s) are an African American male and a white female that share the apartment. If you see suspected drug activity please call the NHPD as often as necessary. They are often seen walking in the area with a white and brown pit bull. They and their business are not welcome in this neighborhood. The male was involved in a stolen vehicular accident on Quinnipiac Avenue on July 9 where a reported handgun was suspected of being tossed.

"Its all fun and games till someone loses an eye"There are signs posted on the bridge that say "no fishing from bridge" and the fisherman are continually fishing right under the sign. This poses a very dangerous problem for boaters. As we try to go under the bridge, there are line and hooks dangling everywhere. Some of the people are curteous enough to pull their lines and let you through, others start yelling and throwing things. I have had everthing from beer cans and other garbage to lead weights thrown. Last year a women on a boat was hooked in the scalp by a fishing lure and I have had close calls with lures myself. I have called the bridge operations number numerous times to ask them to call police when there people fishing from the bridge, I have also called police to file a report, still, last night June 8th, I counted 28 fisherman. Will they not act until someone loses an eye and sues the city?

  • 94-166 Clifton Street New Haven, Connecticut - Fair Haven Heights

The cops keep saying they want to get serious about this illegal behavior, but despite several calls to the New Haven police from several people in the neighborhood on Friday, Saturday and today, not one cop showed up all weekend long. We even gave them the address of one group of riders. Hour upon hour of loud noise and disruption, and unsafe riding in and out of the park. Can we PLEASE have some cop presence in this neighborhood?

A pack of around 6 heading south at 1pm. Then an hour later they came back from east haven after picking up their dates for a Sunday afternoon. Probably around 20 heading north on Q av an hour later.

Anyone heard an update on if we're getting any _additional_ laws to police the issue and on timing - will we see benefits to neighborhoods this summer?

Also in terms of existing laws that are being broken, driving without a license, recklessly etc., I just checked up on youtube for the latest. I'm assuming police are regularly going online to pick them all up but just in case plenty of good close-ups of faces here: http://youtu.be/tNoWGDp--CE

The business located here cleans the beach every week and dumps the trash on the public right-of-way. Why isn't that illegal dumping on city property? it's disrespectful to the community
