City of Bainbridge Island

COBI mower is disturbing nesting area of birds when mowing beach side of the road. Birds nest in the native beach grass that is between the road & the beach. The mower is reaching into the beach grass (not just mowing a narrow strip). There is at least 1 sandpiper nest here, other nests. Goldfinches and other birds feed and "hang out" here regularly.

This is at least the 3rd time the beach grass has been mowed this season.
