Notified About

  • 1001 New Hampshire Ave Nw Washington, DC 20037, USA - Foggy Bottom

Drivers are constantly running the red light for the turn onto New Hampshire Ave here. It is a danger to pedestrians who already have a very short time to cross.

Perhaps police should sit at this intersection and ticket all offenders. Would make way more money than parking enforcement.

Utility trench which was cut into south-bound curbside lane was never properly repaired. Now there is a sharp longitudinal cut that steers motorcycle and bicycle tires and could be a factor in a crash.

  • Nw 21st St & Nw K St Washington, District of Columbia - Golden Triangle Improvement District
On most mornings there are police on 21st street just south of K street. Its not apparent their purpose but there are several issues. first they dont do anything about eastbound traffic on K street that blocks the intersection preventing cars heading south on 21st to proceed thru the intersection. as long as the Police are there they ought to ticket some of these impatient drivers who cant bear to wait to cross 21st. Second, there have been a few mornings where the Police cars occupy 1-2 on lanes on 21st street just south of K; this is inexcusable during rush hour as three lanes of 21st street traffic try and converge into a single or 2 lanes. Whats the story here?
  • Washington Circle Nw Washington, DC - Foggy Bottom
Residents around Washington Circle live right by George Washington Hospital, so we know that hearing sirens is a given. The gripe is the use - rather abuse - of these sirens by the ambulence and police drivers in the middle of the night, e.g. at 2am, when they are clearly not on their way to an emergency. I know they are not because they drive through the circle and "beep-beep-ba-beep" the sirens as if they are playing a game/song, then it abruptly stops and randomly restarts. Moreover, there is virtually no traffic on the streets at this hour, so clearly it is not done to alert anyone. It is just them late at night, having fun with the siren, completely disregarding that they are driving through a residential neighborhood. I respect ambulence drivers for what they do, but this behavior is clearly unprofessional, unnecessary, and disruptive.
