165 Summit St New Haven, CT - Fair Haven Heights

whoever owns this property directly behind 165 Summit is dumping large/commercial amounts of yard waste which is flowing into Quarry Park. They even used a chainsaw to cut down a HUGE oak tree which landed in the park and blocked the main trail going through. The wall of waste pushing into the park is almost 8' tall!!!

    Is this a LCI issue?

The dog at #271 (Green house) was barking for hours on Sunday 1/26/14. IT was outside when the temperature was in the single digits. I also heard it the next morning. The barking is a nuisance, but it can't be good for the dog to be outisde with the recent temps.

Carroll St. still hasn't been plowed as of 9:00 am Sunday. There are no cars on the street. Has Clifton or Summit been plowed?

The new owner of this property has been rebuilding the front steps. They also demolished the sidewalk. I 'm curious if the city knows about this? And are they planning on laying down a new sidewalk in it's place?

I went through Quarry Park this past weekend. The trails could use some TLC but the bigger problem is that there is glass everywhere along the trails. I don't know what kind of cretins insist on going into the woods to break glass but this unfortunate behavior has essentially taken away Quarry Park's ability to function as open space in New Haven.

After clear-cutting hundreds of trees on their right-of-way, Amtrak is now performing work on the tunnel and cliffs from 7pm to 7am every night. Loud generators, trucks, heavy machinery and bright lights are destroying the quality of life in the neighborhood.

Historically, if there was a holiday in a given week, trash pickup would be delayed by one day. It seems that SOMETIMES that is still the case...other times it is not. Like today....when I dragged my turkey-hungover self and my cuppa to my back steps for dog airing duty....only to hear "BEEP-BEEP-BEEP" and see a garbage truck backing down my street. I stared from it to the massive pile of trash bags overflowing my usually-adequate brown bin (the result of pre-holiday cleanup as well as cleanup from last night's feast)...to my also overflowing recycling bin...and back to the truck. Nuts!

So it seems there is no longer an easily-remembered rule about holiday pickup. I know ultimately this is on me as I suppose I should've checked the web to see if there were any changes to the schedule or not....on the list of priorities leading up to hosting my family holiday, that didn't even register, alas. Plus my head is still stuck in the old way this was dealt with.

Is there a set schedule that I can access, print, and hang on the fridge that covers the year and tells which holidays delay pickup and which don't? If not, could someone please consider making one? I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem.

Also, as stated, I am already way over capacity for trash and recycling in my bins...does that mean I'm on the hook for fines come next week's pickup? Plus I'd rather not have all that stuff hanging around for a week. Can I just load it in my truck and bring it to the transfer station? I've got the rest of the day free, so please advise. Thanks!

The homeowner recently moved all her household items into a school bus and all over the yard next door. It's been two weeks now, with her living in the bus, which is parked facing the wrong way at the bottom of a hill in a residential neighborhood. LCI issue? Police? Both? Issue needs addressing. It's dangerous and a quality of life issue.
