Are the Buildings that are legally under the oversight of the town of Ansonia CT, as private home ownership is,
Located at approximately 525 East Main St and the Farrel corner of Main and North Main Street,
In postion to dodge current blight laws developed by your town in the valley? You have to admit the visual on these buildings look far worse than the River Side Apartments making state news for removal. We were eating in your town one evening and decided to take a walk after dinner prior to driving out of town and back home. I in sandals managed to get my foot scraped by broken glass from debris from one of these buildings.
See attached pics by way of what everyone on the world-wide-web is seeing post-carded as one of your city focal points.

  • Main St Ansonia, CT - Ansonia

Broken glass 3-4 places along sidewalk in between the billboards and the fire hydrant next to the levee entrance. It's been there for months and what does it take to clean it up? I have been walking by it every day!

The white arrows at the light facing north at the bottom of East Main and State Street are confusing. There are two lanes and it is not clear if the right lane goes right and straight and the left just goes left or visa versa. I have almost gotten clipped there due as to the confusion. Please repaint arrows and also put up a sign designating the proper lane to use.

  • 34 Woodbridge Avenue Ansonia, CT - Ansonia

When is the town going to start issuing tickets to people who did not clear their sidewalks or areas where there is a bus stop? We have an individual who paid some teenagers to clear his front walkway but not his sidewalk or the corner where the bus stop is for all Ansonia schools. The kids have the choice of standing in the road or on a thick sheet of ice. Also they have to walk in the road to get to the cleared sidewalk which is still icy. Numerous complaints have been made to the PD but nothing has been done. An officer actually told a neighbor that she should just drive her kid to school. It just burns up the rest of us who were out there for days shoveling while some people feel entitled to just not do anything. This is on the corner of Woodbridge Avenue and Merritt Street.

  • 575 E Main St Ansonia, CT 06401 - Ansonia

When the intersection of Main and Division was redone adding in left turn signals, southbound traffic on main street regularly ignores that the left lane is now left turn only and people go straight. The left turn lane is marked pretty clearly. Since it is on the Ansonia/Derby boundary, there may be a jurisdiction issue on trying to enforce violations...?

As a parent of a new driver, I was asked yesterday . . . "when I'm on East Main Street by the firehouse, what lane do I go in to go straight?" The sign has left lane turn and the right lane says straight or turn right. If you look on the street, both lanes have a straight arrow and a turn arrow. Now I know from this happening in the past that the old paintings on the road are coming through however one not familiar to the area or a new driver would be quite confused. I'm sure this is a "state road" issue but maybe someone in our City could pass this information along. Thank you.

  • Pershing Drive Olson Street, Crescent Street, Ansonia, CT - Ansonia

The intersection/light from the opposing Cresent Street and drivers who want to turn left onto Pershing Drive is a NIGHTMARE in the morning. I welcomed the opportunity to be able to drive over the Maple Street Bridge upon it's recent reopening; and on the first week/drive into work; it was very nice; traffic was lighter (due to holiday's, etc) however; now that most people know the bridge has reopened people are preferring to go over and around onto Olson Dr to Pershing as it's a MUCH quicker route than going over Bridge Street, but not during rush hour nor school pick-up/drop off times. I got stuck at that light along with a LINE of cars this morning trying to get to work (4) FOUR times until I was able to get through the light as bus after bus and car; etc kept turning right onto Pershing and/or straight to Olson Dr. PLEASE install a turn signal to allow traffic to remain flowing and allow both sides to make their turns safely, as I've seen a few people go through the light (when green) but cut-off opposing traffic/school buses as they just don't want to wait.... and honestly right/wrong I don't 100% blame them! PLEASE HELP!!
