  • Dump Rd New Haven, CT 06513, USA - Cedar Hill

There is a lack of signage or visible street numbers around the Recycling Center.

The City website (at http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/PublicWorks/recycling/index.asp) lists the address as 260 Middletown Avenue. If you map this address online or using GPS its way off. In reality the Recycling Center is on Dump Road.

If we want people to recycle we have to make the facilities easy to find.

  • Quinnipiac Avenue New Haven, CT - Quinnipiac

On a fairly consistant basis, there's a series of guys who ride up and down the streets in this area on dirt bikes, which is problem enough. They're illegal and loud, to begin with.

The worst of it, however, comes from a group of older teenagers who ride in a pack of about 5 or 6... three of which are regularly doing wheelies for incredibly long stretches of road. Sometimes they're together, sometimes it's just the one doing a wheelie. Regardless, I've almost hit the kid doing a wheelie a few times, and so has my roommate. Since he obviously can't see in front of him, he tends to veer into the way of oncoming traffic. One time he was so far into my lane, I was almost positive that he was just going to run straight into my car so I pulled all the way over to the right and stopped. It's ridiculous.

I know this is a tough one to deal with. I read another article about kids on dirt bikes around Grasso and how one fled when police tried to pull him over, and then he jumped the curb and ran over a child. I figure it doesn't hurt to bring up again though, for everyone's safety.

  • Dell Drive Quinnipiac, Mourning Dove, Paul (East Haven), New Haven, CT - Quinnipiac

Every weekend multiple ATVs drive through the Bishop Woods Bird Sanctuary which is bordered by Dell Drive, Quinnipiac, and small streets in East Haven. The riders are destroying the quiet of the neighborhood and this preserved wooded area that is a bird sanctuary. They also use it during the week but the volume is nowhere as much as during the weekend.

  • 18-20 Fiore Street New Haven, CT - Quinnipiac

This huge rotted tree finally was cut down, but the majority of it is still on the ground. Weeks have passed, and it is a hazard. Please remove the remainder.

  • 34 Middletown Ave New Haven, CT - Quinnipiac

CNH and Mr. Arndt must look at snow removal strategies rather than snow push-back business as usual. Dedicate snow holding areas each winter, not just after an emergency has started. Invest in snow-blowing machinery that works in tandem with haulers to get the snow completely off the streets and walkways. Look at Montreal and other snowy cities for the types of equipment used and strategies employed to get the snow out of the way. Search YouTube for the phrase "snow removal Montreal" to get a sense of what is possible. Yes, and definitely tow, tow, tow for the greater good.

  • 112 Roosevelt Saint Ext New Haven, Connecticut - Quinnipiac

I frequently hike from the condos into the Woods and I noticed a few months ago that a ramp has been built from the last house on this street into the Bishop Woods Bird Sanctuary, where ATV use is illegal. Where is the Parks Dept? The NH Police? This is illegal; this area is not a park for people to trash at will. It is a sanctuary for birds and for non-destructive use by people.

  • Foxon Boulevard New Haven, CT - Quinnipiac

Most of the sidewalks on Foxon boulevard are not cleared. It's been over two weeks and the businesses have had their lots cleared ASAP so they could re open. Apparently they are not concerned about public safety. This is a recipie for a deadly accident like the ones in Southington and Milford where those who do not have transportation are forced to walk in the street were hit and killed. It's not for me as I have transportation. I try to be careful for those who must walk the area.

There is also a large snow pile in the intersection of Quinnipiac ave and Smith that causes those driving toward Foxon to cross the yellow line into oncoming traffic to get past it.

  • Quinnipiac Meadows New Haven, CT - Quinnipiac

A few weeks ago Public works went around putting signs up onto trees without first getting permission from the property owners. This is a misdemeanor under Title III Chapter 18-25 of the New Haven code of ordinances. I've tried to contact Public Works and my alderman but nobody answers their phones or returns calls. If the town would like to pay for the annual maintenance to my 60+ year old tree I'll be glad to let them use it as a sign-post, otherwise maybe they can use a $1 tomato stake instead.
