Quinipiac Avenue new haven, CT - Quinnipiac
6:30 pm, 9/21/13, large group of dirtbikers (doing wheelies etc) going north up Quinipiac Ave, through Grand Ave interesection towards Middletown Ave. Then back to Grand Ave Bridge. OK, NHPD, you have a new law ($1000 fine to get the bikes back), please track down the bikes and confiscate.
1425 Quinnipiac Ave New Haven, Connecticut - Quinnipiac
Please help us set up armed patrols in the 1425 Quinnipiac area. There is a large amount of drug activity from the New Haven public housing authority (Saint Anthony 1, 2, and the Rowe Houses beginning on 1378 Quinnipiac Ave) as well as Quinnipiac Terrace owned and managed by Trinity Management Company. We've been complaining to the NHPD, Sgt. Anastasio and previous district managers with absolutely no progress. People have been complaining to the police dept and after reviewing comments here on Seeclickfix it has been an ongoing issue since 2010! In 2011 the condo association got together with a petition which was sent to State Senator Martin Looney, Mayor Destefano, Rosa DeLaura, Police Chief Esserman, Sgt. Anastatio, Gov. Malloy, Senator Blumenthal, and US Attorney Stein. We did not receive a response back from any of these individuals to comment on our concerns. We have 2 foreclosures in our condo because the owners could not take the crimes committed and rapid drug dealer in our complex with no response from our police department, so they just give up and let their condos go. Our unit owners are scared to let their children play outside due to the fear of the rapid drug dealing and the quality of life. NHPD has abandoned the residences of Quinnipiac Ave and let the drug dealers deal drugs with complete immunity. If anyone would like to help to start an armed patrol or have the contact for the Rabbi in Westville that started an armed patrol there a few years ago, it would be appreciated. The only way to get our community back is if we take it back!
Dump Rd New Haven, CT 06513, USA - Cedar Hill
There is a lack of signage or visible street numbers around the Recycling Center.
The City website (at http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/PublicWorks/recycling/index.asp) lists the address as 260 Middletown Avenue. If you map this address online or using GPS its way off. In reality the Recycling Center is on Dump Road.
If we want people to recycle we have to make the facilities easy to find.

By my recollection, New Haven hasn't held an electronics recycling day for two years (http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/publicworks/recycling/electronics.asp). I've called the Department of Public Works about this and they always say they don't know when it will be held next. To keep consumer electronics (and the lead and other heavy metals they contain) out of landfills, the city should give people a way to properly dispose of electronics.

On a fairly consistant basis, there's a series of guys who ride up and down the streets in this area on dirt bikes, which is problem enough. They're illegal and loud, to begin with.
The worst of it, however, comes from a group of older teenagers who ride in a pack of about 5 or 6... three of which are regularly doing wheelies for incredibly long stretches of road. Sometimes they're together, sometimes it's just the one doing a wheelie. Regardless, I've almost hit the kid doing a wheelie a few times, and so has my roommate. Since he obviously can't see in front of him, he tends to veer into the way of oncoming traffic. One time he was so far into my lane, I was almost positive that he was just going to run straight into my car so I pulled all the way over to the right and stopped. It's ridiculous.
I know this is a tough one to deal with. I read another article about kids on dirt bikes around Grasso and how one fled when police tried to pull him over, and then he jumped the curb and ran over a child. I figure it doesn't hurt to bring up again though, for everyone's safety.

I frequently hike from the condos into the Woods and I noticed a few months ago that a ramp has been built from the last house on this street into the Bishop Woods Bird Sanctuary, where ATV use is illegal. Where is the Parks Dept? The NH Police? This is illegal; this area is not a park for people to trash at will. It is a sanctuary for birds and for non-destructive use by people.

All night long drag racing and cruising in front of McDonalds. I have almost been hit head on here twice on the way home.
Police come and chase them away, but they just come back and start again. I have a feeling as it warms up it is only going to get worse and someone is going to get hurt.

Since Rte 80 is being redone right here, right now, I pray that the following is included in the redo: we seriously need a median or island in front of Mc Donald's and the gas station. Their customers routinely, flagrantly ignore the no left turn signs posted, and cut out into what will now be 5+ lanes of traffic, trying to cut all the way across Rte. 80. Also, people try to make left turns INTO McDonald's as well, coming from the east, also cutting dangerously across several lanes of traffic. If it's not an accident waiting to happen, it's road rage shooting waiting to happen!

Once again the 18 year old male that lives at 1425 Quinnipiac Ave Unit 301 was out of control. Police were called several times, once when he was fighting with his grandmother, once when he beat up his mother and on 5-26 when he had an unsupervised party with minors and a girl ran out. Witnesses saw two males slapping her in the face. She ran away sceraming that a part of her lower female anatomy was hurting, which might mean that she was sexually asssaulted. Police saw her on other street and she was uncooperative. Police did not go to 1425 Quinnipiac unit 301 to question anyone. There have been complaints about marijuana smoking at the same address and kids sitting on the cars of other tenants. What does one have to do to get this matter resolved? There is an audio of the event.

Regular and ongoing drug activity that comes out of 1435 Quinnipiac Ave especially between Units 26-28 have numerous people usually 8-20 hanging on the porches every night playing Loud music, yelling, and rapping up to 2-3am. The property management and owners, Trinity, of Quinnipiac Terrace have ignored all complaints and let the drug activity and quality of life issues carry on. If anyone knows of legal action that we could take against the owners of the property and how to enforce the nuisance abatement act against the property owners please respond as that would be greatly appreciated.
