    When cross traffic from Meeting House or Woodchuck approaches the light, it immediately triggers the route 1 traffic light to change...then, after the route 1 light returns to green, another car from the cross traffic immediately triggers the light to green again. Therefore, the heavy traffic on route 1 has significant backup, while the lesser traveled cross street incorrectly has priority. Same problem occurs with the turn lanes from route 1 onto the cross streets...opposing traffic gets backed up.

    Technically not DE but the road ventures into PA for a quarter mile and then back into DE and the PA part has not been repaved in years and is littered with potholes. The two states need to find a way to reconcile how to pay for this road to be fixed.

    There is a left turn lane to turn from US 1 South (Baltimore Pike) onto Fairville Road in Chadd's Ford. (Riding a short stretch on Baltimore Pike is the only way to get from Creek Rd. to Fairville Rd.) The on-demand left-turn arrow does not trip for a cyclist. I recently (May 2011) sat through 2 cycles of the light and never got a green arrow. The bike is steel with metal wheels so it should trip a magnetic sensor.
