Help keep the southern woodin street area of Hamden safe, friendly and clean by watching out for each others property.
Furman Rd Hamden - Hamden
Have live on the streeet for almost 20years and it has never been paved. Patched by different utility companies but not paved. One of my neighbors was an original owner oF their house and said the street hadnt been paved since they moved into their home. That was in the 1950's. I do see them repaving streets all around the Furman Rd community. so why not us. the rumor is the north end of Hamden get more beautification than the south end so money is just redirected. Maybe the neighborhood needs to let the city know we deserve more than just a drive by and promise that its on the list.
Thomas Street Hamden, CT 06514, USA - Hamden
My wife and I are homeowners here in Hamden, it will be four years
in August. It has been a wonderful experience for us and our two sons.
Our neighbors are wonderful and Hamden's community activities have
been a refreshing option for our children. However, as you know, no
town is perfect. Roads needs to be fix, the schools could be improved,
and who and what kind of businesses that are approved, should be
monitored more closely; nevertheless, my most pressing issue doesn't
involve any of those things. I live at 5 Furman Road, which is at the
corner of Furman and Thomas Street. Thomas St. has become a haven for
speeding dirt bikes, motorcycles, and many times kids from Southern in
cars racing through. Until recently, the police were rarely seen.
Lately, my wife and I have notice more of a police presence, but
naturally they can't see everyone. Our two boys are 13 and 4, and they
play a lot in our backyard. My biggest fear is one of them being
struck by a speeding car or motorcycle. Additionally, the perception
that our section of town has, may erode if this isn't addressed. The problem could be fixed easily with a posted radar machine or a more consistent police presence. Let everyone know that Hamden does not tolerate speeding.
Woodin St Hamden, Connecticut - Hamden
There is a drive to take down the fence on Woodin St lead by New Haven Housing Authority which will give the housing project of New Haven access to Woodin St. streets are being paved to dump traffic out onto Woodin as well. Good for Southern to cut down on traffic through their campus
200 Brookside Ave. #43 New Haven, CT - West Rock
I have requested numerous of times to have the lighting on the side of my unit and the front porch light fixed. Nothing has been done. It is dangerous to go outside because you can't see who is lurking and when you have a knock on the door you can't see who is knocking. Unacceptable.
