201-267 Clinton Ave W Huntsville, AL 35801, USA - Huntsville
Design and construct a ‘Signature Tower of Huntsville,’ one that has offices and residential condos. This would break the height limit on the skyline and promote the idea that Huntsville is sustainable for going up rather than out. Both the Mobile, AL RSA Battle House Tower and the Austin, Texas Austonian Towers are great examples of such projects.

200-276 Eastside Square Huntsville, AL 35801, USA - Huntsville
Huntsville leadership and community have long debated how to attract a young, educated workforce to key areas of the city. Namely downtown, research park, south Huntsville, and the Bridge Street Complex. As a former Arlington, VA native I would suggest you look into how that city developed with a key focus on accessibility, transportation, housing, and leisure/entertainment venues. Namely, Arlington has conducted a phased approach to urban development that started in the 60’s and has now grown into vibrant communities across the city. Arlington calls these hubs Urban Villages. Each urban village is a distinctive and multifaceted community with jobs, housing, and recreation all within a few blocks of each other. These booming business centers are Crystal City, Rosslyn and Ballston, the local government center in Court House, the quirky liveliness of Clarendon, Pentagon City's world-class shopping, the Lee Highway and Columbia Pike commercial corridors, and the quaint neighborhoods of Virginia Square, Westover, and Shirlington. Each of these "urban villages" is well-served by public transportation and amenities for bicyclists and walkers, connecting the neighborhoods to each other and to the rest of the metropolitan area. Teeming with shopping centers and lively nightlife, Arlington has a little bit of everything for everyone, exactly what Huntsville should aspire to be; albeit maybe a little less crowded. Arlington’s planned development centered around one of the best public transportation systems in the country, something Huntsville will have to consider. But the Urban Village communities are places where one can live, work, and play... no car required! I would suggest you research examples like Arlington http://www.commuterpage.com/ART/villages/index.htm

Monorail-Light Rail OpenW Clinton Ave & U.S. 431 & U.S. 231 Huntsville, AL 35801, USA - Huntsville
A mono-rail system that connects downtown to USSRC, Airport and Bridge Street and a light-rail system that connects downtown to the river, where we need shops and eateries. You would use the existing line that connects from the Norfolk-Souther line to the river area.

4681 Research Park Blvd Nw Huntsville, AL 35806, USA - Huntsville
Create a Railway system that starts on Hwy 53, then the arsenal, to downtown hsv, to south huntsville. Have it make certain stops to bridgstreet, the hospital, ect. Research Park Blvd is way overcrowed during rush hour and is not safe!. Changes need to be made there ASAP. You could have a big parking lot where people park there cars and then get on the TRAM. Then have buses take people to certian places on the arsenal or wherever in hsv.

We need public transportation for downtown Huntsville in particular to help cut down on drinking and driving as well as allow people downtown to enjoy what little nightlife we have there without having to worry about driving home after a drink at a bar.

Exhaust Noise OpenHolmes Ave And Triana Blvd Huntsville, AL - Huntsville
Off road exhaust systems installed on passenger vehicles and trucks used on city right of ways. We need some teeth in enforcing noise ordinances regarding exhaust noise. Vehicles operated in this part of the city alone rattle windows and create nuisance disturbances in the residential areas even between 10pm and 8am. People should receive citations ordering them to install proper mufflers and fines for non compliance.
