    The bike lanes on Spruce st. are barely a month old, and already they are being plagued by illegal parking, stopping, idling.

  • Bike Wheel trap Acknowledged
    15th & Spruce Street Philadelphia, PA - City Center West
    Poorly placed steel plates over utility excavation causes a bike wheel trap in the Spruce Street bike lane at 15th Street. Can the plates 1) be placed tight against one another 2) secured so that they are not moved out of place by turning cars and trucks

    Just off of the curb. Will throw your car out of alignment, and throw a cyclist over his handlebars.
  • Pine And Spruce Streets - City Center West
    Every single weekend there are cars parked on bike lanes along Pine and Spruce Streets. This negates the benefit of the bike lanes, causes congestion if we have to bike with regular traffic and an unsafe condition. All these cars should be ticketed and towed.

    I was travelling west bound on Spruce St. At the intersection of 16th and Spruce the limousine sitting at the traffic light was not in the turn lane, nor did it have its turn signal engage prior to the turn.

    When the light turned green, the limousine makes a sharp right turn into the bike lane hitting my front bicycle tire. The driver failed to stop and fled the scene.

    For weeks, this vehicle has been parked for many hours per day at the same spot. It is there at 9am, it is there at 5pm, and all throughout the day.

    I bet if someone parks in the courtyard of city hall, they would not get a ticket for months! As the violation is so outrageous, everyone would just assume they are "special" and are permitted to be there. This Infinity seems to be exploiting this loophole, and PPD/PPA is none the wiser.

    I recently got a ticket on my motorcycle at 1900 Market street. The meter arrows of left spot and right spot do not match the paint on the street therefore you can never be right on which meter to pay. I recommend all citations issued for meter number SM27006 be disqualified after a meter investigation is done and the paint on the spots are correctly labeled.
    I posted a video for your viewing on the conditions of the new motorcycle meter program. This was the first time I used motorcycle parking meters and it’s AWESOME. I’m aware a new program will always have its typo’s…

    Can you please do a meter investigation to verify that the A & B arrows point to mislabeled parking spots. I always put my money where the meter arrows point to and A should be left and B should be right. We are taught to read left to right, that’s just normal human behavior. But all the parking spots are painted backwards.
    On another note, all the other meter spots on the street are labeled backwards also… FEDCBA when the 5 spot meter (without arrows under the LCD) reads ABCDEF. This is very confusing when wearing a helmet and fresh off a nice ride thru Philadelphia.
