Notified About

  • 3053 3099 Martin Luther King Jr Way Berkeley, CA 94703, USA - South Berkeley
There is a lot of construction around the Ashby BART stop but nothing has been done about the ridiculous amount of litter that just keeps piling up around the perimeter. It's disgraceful.
  • 1107 High Court Berkeley, California - Berkeley
Stormwater runoff for half of High Court street in berkeley does not flow to the storm drain, but instead flows into the driveways for 1107 and 1109 High Court, causing flooding, property damage, and a hazard for residents. The street needs to be repaired so that the water flows into the storm drain
  • Woolsey And Tremont Street Berkeley, CA - Berkeley
Woolsey Street, between Shattuck and Adeline, is a major pedestrian route to Ashby BART. The last month has seen five armed robberies on Woolsey near Tremont and Whitney. The street is very dark and needs improved lighting. The BART station parking lot is well lit, making the surrounding streets even darker and unsafe for pedestrians. Please improve the lighting on this street! More street lights are necessary.
  • 1018 Bancroft Way Berkeley, CA - Berkeley
For years, AT&T technicians have been leaving their debris behind at over 20 telecommunications terminals (the green boxes) in Berkeley, littering the public easements and the street gutters leading to the Bay. The Mayor, all City Council Members, the City Manager, and AT&T Corporate officials have been aware of this problem for the last 7 months but have failed in their efforts to stop it. Please join your neighbors by sending a clear signal to city hall that we will not tolerate this continued littering in our city. • 800-848 Stanford Ave Berkeley, CA - Santa Fe

The curb in front of the Stanford Market on Stanford Ave in Berkeley between King St and 62nd St needs to be painted red, between the two curb cuts. The van repair shop across Stanford regularly stores their vehicles here, which blocks the view of oncoming traffic heading south-west on Stanford from anyone heading south on King St.

This is especially dangerous for bicyclists and pedestrians trying to go south from King St to the path across the Stanford Ave median, as cross traffic is often moving very fast and a clear view is of utmost importance.

  • 3337 California St Berkeley, CA 94703, USA - North Oakland
Still there. Issue has not been resolved
  • Claremont Ave & Ashby Ave Berkeley, CA 94705, USA - Berkeley
The Ashby intersection at Claremont is dangerous to make left turns at and leads to unnecessary congestion on Ashby during peak hours. It'd be better and safer if there were dedicated Left Turn lanes and better still if there were a left turn signal.
  • vagrants Archived
3370 Adeline Street Berkeley, CA - North Oakland
1 or more vagrants constantly hanging around the businesses, begging & using the sidewalk as a bathroom.
  • Graffiti Archived
901-929 Harrison St Berkeley, CA 94710, USA - Berkeley
    Graffiti all over walls.
  • King St And Ashby Ave Berkeley, CA - South Berkeley

When Caltrans repaved the intersection at Ashby and King St in South Berkeley (very nice, thank you) they neglected to repaint one of the yellow crosswalk lines at the south side of this intersection, and the traffic signal loop detector bicycle stencils which were half covered up by the paving work.

Regardless of who ends up performing this work please make sure Caltrans is charged for it, since they should have taken care of it initially after completing their paving work.

  • Alcatraz Ave And King St Berkeley, CA - South Berkeley

The intersection of Alcatraz Ave and King St in south Berkeley has a 2-way stop for traffic on King St, but no stop for traffic on Alcatraz going east or west. Alcatraz is a car arterial but King St is a highly trafficked bike boulevard and pedestrian corridor.

Even with the existing flashing beacons on the crosswalk pedestrians still find it very difficult to cross Alcatraz here because drivers just don't yield, and with the poor sightlines due to all the curbside parking and the fast vehicle speeds on Alcatraz, cyclists on King St also find it very difficult and dangerous to cross here, even after stopping and yielding to cross traffic.

I think the solution to this problem would be to either turn the 2-way stop into a 4-way stop at this intersection, or install a traffic signal that is timed to coordinate with the one at Alcatraz and Adeline. During the busiest hours Alcatraz traffic backs up all the way past King St, but motorists continue to block the intersection and fail to let cross traffic through. As such, a stop sign or traffic signal here would allow the bike boulevard traffic to make it past Alcatraz usually without even impacting the vehicles on that street at all.
