Residents of the Cohoes Hill neighborhood around the area of the Polish-American Association should not have to put up with the bar's music cranked up to volume 10 all night, vibrating everybody's houses and keeping people awake!
We should also not have to put up with the loud, drunken people staggering out all over the place into the middle of the street and making noise until 1AM every single weekend!
Not to mention all the drunk drivers who stumble out of the bar and then speed down the residential streets at 50 MPH as if they were racetracks!
Plus, I'll bet at least 1/2 of the people getting in their cars after a night of boozing it up over there every weekend are repeat DWI's!!
The other issue is that every Friday and Saturday night, the people who actually LIVE on this street have NO PLACE TO PARK because all the people who go to the bar take up every single parking space on the street!!!
I LIVE HERE!!! I shouldn't have to park 4 blocks away because every drunk in the city is parked right in front of my doorstep!
I understand that the Polish Association is a part of this community too, but I think that they and their patrons should be a little more considerate to the residents of this neighborhood who have to try to SLEEP at night!
12 White St Cohoes, NY 12047, USA - Cohoes
The historic Cohoes Theater building at 12 White St. is going to be torn down this fall, unless we, the concerned citizens say, "NO!" and do something about it!
This beautiful Art Deco-style movie house was built in 1941, and it would be a tragedy if we just let the City of Cohoes tear it down!
I couldn't believe my ears when I heard it on the news!! I thought the City of Cohoes was trying to revitalize the Remsen/Ontario/Columbia St. area, and bring back some businesses to this historic town!
Why would they want to tear down a building like this? It only needs relatively minor repairs (when compared with some of the other crumbling buildings around this area.)
We have a few businesses slowly coming back to this city, (like the Bread and Jam Cafe for example), and I think it's small businesses like these that we need to help revitalize all these old, dilapidated towns in New York!! Why would we want to wreck our history like this by letting the Cohoes Theater fall to the wrecking-ball??
We have to SAVE OUR HISTORIC BUILDINGS!!!
340 Vliet Blvd Cohoes, NY 12047, USA - Cohoes
Vliet Street is completely disintegrated!
The asphalt is crumbling, the drainage is horrendous, and the taxpayers and residents of this city DESERVE BETTER than to have the tires and suspension and steering of their cars constantly DAMAGED by this kind of neglect!
I don't understand how a city can be so neglectful of the simplest part of its infrastructure: THE STREETS!!
DEMAND BETTER FROM YOUR GOVERNMENT!!! REPAIR THESE CRUMBLING STREETS WE HAVE TO DRIVE ON EVERY DAY!!!!!
16-98 N Mohawk St Cohoes, NY 12047, USA - Cohoes
This traffic light should be reprogrammed to flash after 10:00 PM. There's really not that much traffic here at night anyway.
Many other intersections in Cohoes now have blinking lights at night and they work fine. Plus this is only a 3-way intersection, which makes it even easier.
86-98 Vliet St Cohoes, NY 12047, USA - Cohoes
Vliet Street really needs to have center yellow lines painted on it along its entire length. Drivers constantly weaving around parked cars and speeding, agressive drivers make this street extremely dangerous as it is!
It also needs proper "zebra-stripes" painted at the corner of Garner Street, so that pedestrians can cross the street safely.
Not to mention the tremendous amount of children playing, and pedestrian traffic at the corner of Garner Street.
You'd think this would have been done as part of whatever they just did when they dug up the entire street!
2 Devlin Street Cohoes, NY - Cohoes
when entering or exitng onto N Mohawk, the manner in which the parking for residents is set up, the road is often narrowed to a single lane. there are markings indicating this is a two lane road but withing 30 feet of the entrance, there is parking permitted narrowing the road to a single lane making it difficuult for drivers to enter or exit if there is another vehicle in the oncoming lane.
