Notified About

  • 2707 E. Marshall Street Richmond, VA - Church Hill

The brick sidewalk at the corner of 27th and Marshall is in bad shape. A tree root as tore up most of the walkable part between the bakery and the bike shop. There are approximately five businesses on this corner. Lots of foot traffic in the area. Is it possible it can be repaired?

AGAIN, the parks maintenance people have LOCKED this trashcan to the inside of the fence and have not emptied it for weeks. Once again, it is overflowing. We were pushing it to the street each week to have it emptied, but in their wisdom the P&R guys decided to lock it so we couldn't do that. They have stopped emptying any trash in that park, solved on the other end by removing the trash cans so that people just put wrappers etc. on the ground.

The property at 307 N 26th St is under construction. As is visible in the photo, there is no permit displayed, despite them leaving construction materials in the alleyway adjacent to the property, leaving construction vehicles in the alleyway, and breaking down outside walls of the property.

Supposedly there was a water leak and the owner opened the windows and put a fan in to air it out. Over six months later the windows are still open, the fan is still running and rain and snow enter the dwelling. Owner lives in west end, assures neighbors that he will fix up house, but it continues to deteriorate. It used to be a completely restored and habitable house. Now the issue of habitation is beginning to be questioned. The neighbors pick up mail (mostly junk mail and newspapers) in an effort to keep it clean. Homeless people and/or varmints could move in easily, as the windows are open both front and back.

  • 2909 East Broad Street Richmond, VA - Church Hill

Overgrowth against the fence is branching out into the public alley and crowding and scratching cars passing through. There is also a fallen tree at 2907 E. Broad that is also starting to become an alley hazard due to overgrowth. It was downed during Hurricane Irene and is hanging on utility lines.
