Vegetation is obstructing the bike lane to the point you have to ride in the car lane. This has been an issue for more than 2 months now.

It looks as though a "no left turn" sign was recently added to the west bound side of wade avenue near the Woodburn Rd intersection. This is great as there have been many instances of unnecessary traffic being created as a result of that turn being allowed. However, the sign was put a couple car lengths before the actual intersection so that you can't actually see the sign if you've stopped to turn.

In two separate instances within a day of one another, I've seen drivers attempt and turn left even though the turn is not legal. It may be that this sign is just too new and people haven't noticed it yet but it's also not placed in the most visible/convenient location either. The sign is at least a car length, if not more, before the intersection and on the right side of the west bound wade avenue.

A sign like this really needs to be placed closer to the intersection, possibly even on the left side. Being placed at the median would be much more ideal but the road is already fairly narrow already and no concrete median exists at that part of Wade Avenue.

There is a tree down near the specified location that is obstructing the paved path.
  • 3 Glenwood Avenue Raleigh, North Carolina - Hillsborough

While heading south on Glenwood on Monday (August 24th), I was involved in an accident where a car in the left most side of the lane turned into me causing a crash (please see attached photo, red circle). The officer informed me that the road is considered to be only one lane there and because of this I am likely to be held liable for the accident. This seems entirely wrong because the southbound side at this location of Glenwood is clearly wide enough for two cars to occupy the lane; however, according to North Carolina law, a road is only considered two lanes if there are lane markings to say so. The officer also informed me that in his 1.5 years in the downtown precinct, he had responded to 2-3 other accidents involving the same location at this intersection.

Based on these circumstances, my request is to have this part of the Glenwood Avenue evaluated and have the lanes marked appropriately.

The on ramp onto capital blvd has always been a real rough spot for a long time but after the recent snowstorms and plows clearing the roads, the damage to the road has been exacerbated. The largest of the pothole has increased in size to about the width of the road and multiple small ones after the larger one have appeared as well.
